Reasons for Joining: I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Arizona State University and corresponding work experience in the semiconductor industry.  Prior to joining UMKC I also attained an MBA in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and participated in an entrepreneurial effort to initiate a new start-up company. I decided to pursue a PhD in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at UMKC since its research agenda, as evident by the extensive work of its world renowned research faculty, closely aligns with my prior experiences and long-term research and teaching interests.

Soheil Hooshangi

Research Interests:  Entrepreneurial leadership, Technological innovation, Corporate Governance, Entrepreneurial marketing

Reasons for Joining: I have a background in electrical engineering and a MBA from Sharif University of Technology, Iran. I decided to pursue my PhD in entrepreneurship due to its attractive multidisciplinary nature which gives the chance to understand and apply concepts from several fields of study. I joined UMKC, because it is among very few universities that has a highly research oriented PhD program fully dedicated to entrepreneurship. Here I have the opportunity to work with some of the best scholars in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation.

Reasons for Joining: Growing up in an entrepreneurial city that breeds tens of thousands of successful entrepreneurs, I am attracted to the entrepreneurship PhD program, because of the fascinating questions that entrepreneurship scholars raise. Yongzhi Wang

Research Interests:  Top Management Team of New Ventures, New Product Development

Reasons for Joining: I have my bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering. Before transferring to IEI in Bloch School, UMKC, I was in Ph.D. program in School of Management in, Xi’an Jiaotong University in China. I join the Ph.D. program because it's one of the few institutes in the U.S. that intensely focus on the field of Entrepreneurship, which is a fascinating and interesting field to me. Our faculty's diverse perspectives enable us to investigate entrepreneurial phenomena from different angles.
