Offering one of the very few PhD programs in

pairs individuals with world-renowned faculty in a rigorous
program that prepares students for top-level positions in
teaching and researching institutions.

Wenkui Liu (Luke)
The differences in marketing and cultural
backgrounds between the United States and China
cause different determinant factors for successful
new products and entrepreneurs. Its a very
interesting research area. IEI really has the best
professors of entrepreneurship research. The PhD
program competes with that of any top university in
the United States.

Luis Gustavo Morales
Luis is studying the impact that successful first
products have on the long-term success of a new
entrepreneurial venture. The topic, he says, has
received limited attention in the research
literature, so it provides an opportunity for
researchers to create pioneering work. I want
to instill in new generations of business students
how business practices lead to social and economic
development, Ultimately, entrepreneurship is a tool
for social enrichment.

Zibin Xu (Ben)
"I decided to transfer to UMKC to pursue a
PhD in entrepreneurship, initially because of the
top-class faculties and the uniquely designed
program.
But only when I arrived here did I truly understand
what top research requires: unfading curiosity,
hard-working ethic, and consistent commitment.
It is a new, but broad, field in which I
can better apply previous quantitative analysis
training.
The professors are very ambitious in the program and
have high expectations on us."
