Frequently
Asked Questions
about the PhD program.
Doctoral
study is a full-time and year-round endeavor. Students are
admitted in the Fall and Winter Semesters. Most candidates
will require four to five years to complete the program. In
ranking applicants, we give primary consideration to
academic potential and aspiration. Each applicant is
evaluated in terms of the following:
excellent quantitative skills as demonstrated by high grades
in coursework
academic
record, as evidenced by graduate
and undergraduate grades and courses taken,
institutions attended,
scholarships, awards, and honors earned,
Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or GRE scores,
recommendation letters,
excellent writing skills,
evidence of excellent work ethic, and
a statement of academic objectives.
If the
student does not have adequate business, economics, or
quantitative coursework, he or she may be required to
complete additional course work.
