The Entrepreneurship Minor helps UMKC students acquire and refine their entrepreneurial skills. The minor is for all UMKC students who want to bring an entrepreneurial perspective to their major field of study. Entrepreneurship minors are required to complete a total of 18 credit hours, including two required entrepreneurship courses and four elective entrepreneurship courses. UMKC students from outside the Bloch School have the option of replacing up to two entrepreneurship electives with discipline-related electives that are consistent with their entrepreneurship focus.

 Why should I consider it?

  • If you want to start your own business or grow an existing business, the minor will help you build the skills needed to launch your venture.

  • You want to be challenged, have the opportunity to think creatively and develop problem-solving skills.

  • Enhance your leadership skills.

  • You have an idea for a product or service, but do not know how to develop it.

  • The skills you learn in the entrepreneurship minor will help you even if you don't start your own business!
